Record Detroit is the professional recording services division of Metro Detroit’s finest school of contemporary music, The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music®. (DSRP) Executive Producers Jason and Sherry Gittinger have been a part of the professional recording and music scene in Detroit since the ‘90s and helped produce projects for countless companies and individuals. From high school students’ college audition recordings and videos to global audio data collection projects for major automotive companies, Record Detroit can manage most any type of project you need completed. And with a staff of the best musicians around the area, you can rest assured that they can provide the best backup band for anything you can throw at them too. REHEARSAL RENTALS

The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music offers rehearsal rentals to some of Metro Detroit’s best productions and tours, as well as many national touring acts that visit Detroit each year.

Fully equipped rehearsal studios ammenities include:

– Complete Backline (Drums, Bass Amp, Guitar Amps, Keyboard)

– Rehearsal PA Systems

– Internet Access

– Comfortable Lobby

– Professional Multitrack Recording Capabilities

– Complimentary Water, Coffee, and Tea

– Convenient Location

Rehearsal Rental Rates:
$150 (3 Hours)
Backline and PA Included
($50 each additional hour or portion thereof)

RECORDING STUDIO

As a fully functioning recording studio, The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music is equipped to make your next project a success. From small songwriting demos and college audition recordings, to complete orchestra sessions, The DSRP can help you finish on time and on budget with some of the most reasonable rates around. With a faculty of some of the most accomplished recording musicians in town down the hall, rest assured that when you need some help with music, we can handle that too.

FACILITY We are conveniently located in Royal Oak, right in the middle of the Metro Detroit region.

The Building

There’s 3600 Square feet of musician’s nirvana. If there’s a need for making music, we have it covered.

Teaching Studios

Our teaching studios are spacious. We mean big. Really big. These rooms were purpose built to give you room to stretch out and learn without hitting your guitar on the walls.

Pro Gear

We keep nothing but professional gear in our arsenal. No kid’s toys here. You’re practicing to be one of the greats. You should be playing on the same gear as them.

More Than Basics

We don’t just have the basic gear needed to make great music. We have nearly everything any professional production facility would have to produce a recording or show.

Studio Circle

The students of The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music get the studio every Monday evening as part of their programs! Studio Circle is a free club for all students where they make projects come to life each week.

Rehearsal Rentals/Shows

KEM, Al Jarreau, Nelson Rangell, Adam Deitch and Lettuce, and many others have called The DSRP their temporary home for rehearsals, video shoots, photo shoots, and live concerts.

Organized

Our studio is complemented regularly about having the most unparalleled selection of equipment of any community music school in the region.

Facility Photos

There’s a comfortable lobby with couches, free WiFi, bathrooms, and usually water and coffee in our kitchenette. Once in a while there’s even cookies!

The Detroit School of Rock and Pop Music building has children musicians in the building at times, so we are drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and firearm free and reserve the right to censor music lyrics should they involve profanity or hate speech. We maintain a positive and professional environment at all times.

Availability on weekdays is generally during the day, or late at night (after 9:30pm) as we operate as a music school in the early evenings. Friday’s and Weekends offer a little more flexibility.

PROJECT SAMPLES

Over the years, we have been involved in countless projects. From sourcing and producing choirs to sing with Foreigner in front of 160,000 people at 10 sold out shows at DTE Energy Music Theater, to music videos and photo shoots for Universal Record’s Motown Subsidiary, The Gittinger’s and the team at Record Detroit know how to get things done.

Jason’s commitment to the surrounding community also finds him involved with civic activities like chairing the Royal Oak Commission for the Arts at Royal Oak City Hall, serving as President of the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce, producing art projects like the Royal Oak Public Piano Project and Royal Oak Summer Concert Series, and starting the city’s annual civic pride celebration called Roam Home. Record Detroit is connected to the community and can help you get there too.
